21 Jun10 Reasons To Brand Your Business On the Internet

1) Computer Literate Consumer Base

In this day and age it is increasingly more probable that your customer is using the Internet several times a day. At the very least, has an email account and increasingly more likely uses Facebook, Myspace or one of the myriad of social networking sites. The owning of a website is expected but still respected. Try to keep it real and fresh. The speed that your reputation can travel, good or bad, (although bad news tends to travel faster) is instant now. And the great social revolution of connectivity caused by people’s ability to have a voice or create importance by publishing there needs and wants or just discuss just about anything on blogs, forums, chat rooms, social sites and comment areas on web 2.0 websites, has created a new accountability. So don’t embellish just find a simple catchy way to define what makes you different, the reason someone would choose your solution to the problem over your competitor. This is called finding your Unique Selling Point (USP). This is your Brand. The modern Internet savvy consumer is also the subject of discussion analyzing the daily stimulus. There are the numbers showing how many images we get bombarded with of products and services available and it is huge! Big companies with big budgets spend billions to create an emotional bond with consumers based solely on a image or catch phrase. This Brand loyalty created helps consumers not have to think about certain decisions, if you are a Pepsi person the pause at the vending machine is quick and to the point, insert money push Pepsi done. Your laundry detergent, shampoo, toothpaste, brand of cigarettes etc. get the same preferred treatment . This is our brand and switching can be emotionally trying.

2) Affordable And Often FREE

Getting affordable and effective exposure is always a good thing for any business. The Internet is just that. The Internet, as I stress over and over, is an information driven entity. Carefully placed information about your industry, citing you or your company as the experts and logical solution to the problem, builds trust and trust equals secure consumers. You pretty much need a website now. Even if a consumer never visits your website, the presence of a dot com on business cards, brochures and any other form of existing advertising you use creates confidence of accountability and competency. This is not as expensive as you might think, a good hosting company can still cost you under $10.00 USD a month and most have built in html editors and tutorials.

Putting out a lot of money on a webmaster or developer is not necessary either. Good sales copy sells not glitzy super tech all the bells and whistles websites. Have good clear information with clearly defined actions readily available to the customer. If you want people to come to your store make the directions easy to follow and tell the customer exactly why they need to come. Even if you have to bribe them with i.e free coffee, free estimate, free tire rotation, what ever you can offer to get them in the store. If the purpose of the website is to inform the customer about the problem area that you address, make the information interesting and emotional. Design the site to make the customer interact i.e sign up for further information, attend a workshop or open house, take a survey or share with a friend, or at the very least remember that you were very knowledgeable in that area and could be trusted to solve said problem. now your site is up but where do you find visitors? Your best friend is the search engine. This is called SEO or search engine optimisation, this is the free organic visitor, typing their problem into a search bar and getting a list of Internet addresses that the search provider believes is the most relevant. This is where the really good free resources shine. I uses five key free Internet promotion sites with huge success. Google, yahoo and Msn love these sites and love to place them high in search results. The 5 are just the tip iceberg but each is an excellent example of the genre of service.

1) Hubpages- Goggle loves hubpages. In the effort to keep the Internet content driven, content sites rank highly and if your content is good the more people view it and the search engines give you more relevency points.

2) Squidoo - Also a content driven format loved by the search engines. Also to order acomplia online mention that back-links are important for good ranking and these sites like Hubpages and Squidoo are great places to link your sites, blogs, articles and other web presences.

The web is just that a “web” and connectivity has become paramount. These two sites above epitomize this wonderful movement , providing connections to twitter, facebook and rss feeds at the push of a button, your message can travel with seamless ease and diversity.

3) Ezinearticles- This is a premiere free article directory. The search engines have trusted there integrity and ranked them highly. This ranking rubs off on your articles and once again place well in search results. Well written, keyword rich article also get syndicated and republished in blogs, websites and news letters. The accepted law of the land is that if you use someones material you leave a “live” link. this creates a viral bonus,. I have had my articles published in hundreds of places for free, all with links to my promotions

4) PR-WEB- This illustrates the use of a good press release. search engines love them, people love the official sound of “press release”. But if your release is news worthy, once again it gets legitimate press coverage.

5) Digg (onlywire) – It is all about the links, and although weak, bookmark sites are links. Digg is the top of the pile where readership and peer ranking can give you a loyal following and used correctly creates a gathering of relevant, contemporary and above all useful information.

Onlywire is a bookmark site tool that will post to about 20 of the best sites at once! Some notables are: de.lis.iou.es, blink, furlit, stumble upon, twitter, facebook and a bunch more. There is also Sharethis! and push button method of multi-submission.

And the list goes on;

Free blogging platforms- Blogger, wordpress, typepad, yahoo 360. etc.

Free forums- warior forum, digital point

Free classifieds- craigslist, adlandpro

3) Instant Global Marketplace

Expansion in business is not as expensive or out of reach as one might think. Early advertising techniques were highly localised, with exposure out side of your area was more expensive the further you went. To advertise in local papers and directories i.e yellow pages or on local radio and T.V being obviously way cheaper than going national or global. The Internet now has a growing global, national and local following witch has no price deferential; it cost the same for someone in India or Sweden to view your web site as in the next town or next house.

4) Automation

The Internet never sleeps, eats , quits takes vacations or calls in sick. I t is the perfect employee. The set and forget capabilities are astounding. Your website can take orders, give advise, give directions, entertain or comfort all while you sleep or doing any number of other things; scuba diving, writing a novel, taking the kids to the park or just focusing on other things at work. The autoresponder once set up can take email addresses and send out informative and caring newsletters or further offers to customers hands free. The contact while after set up is effort less but is creating bonds and trust and most importantly your “brand” repetitivly at the forefront of the customers mind

5) Upsell And Backend Offers

A well kept mailing list can be approached about the newest and latest of what ever you are selling. A sale can turn into a loyal customer to be sold or offered additional products for as long as you are keeping said customer happy.

6) Easy Modernisatian

To upgrade to being a player on the quick and technlogical savvy consumer market is now possible with a cheap pc and a website and a email address.

7) The Viral nature of The Web

A good joke can be opened and passed around the globe by lunch time that day. A great u tube video can have thousands of views an hour. To look at google trends tells you that the world is in touch and is touching back.

8) New Instant Sales Force

One word, Affiliates. You Can have complete strangers become your top sales man. Spending there own time and money on advertising to promote your product and all they expect in return is the commision you expected to pay any way.

9) Exposure

The psychology of marketing states that repetition is the key. I f your customers can add you to the list of purchases that they don’t have to think about, this is called brand loyalty. This done by a emotional bonding that occurs between your image and presentation and your consumer. A brilliant catch phrase and a memorable graphic can now make you household word.

10) Fun and Exciting

If you love your job and if you are passionate about your industry, then entering the world online is exhilarating. There are forums, chat rooms, blogs, news letters , mailing lists, informative web sites about any and all subjects. Finding your target market on the Internet can lead you to interactions and acclaim in your industry as you enter the areas online that your peers hang out.

20 AprThe Internet Is For More Than Just Making Money.

The Internet is more then just a money making phenomena, but is also a tool for self actualization. Becoming what you love is a key to lasting Happiness. There are many options to making money online, but I highly suggest picking one that you enjoy or have always wanted to do. I ask my clients in my success mentorship program, a few key questions to determine how to create success and happiness in there life. One of my favorites is, what did you want to be when you grew up

? This for me sums up factors that may have caused us not to be happy or lose our way. The dreams we had, that get put on hold, don’t go away they just nag at us in little reminders of the “sacrifices” we have made. The choice to make money with your dream job will not only improve job satisfaction but is also an easier sell. Your passion will come through your sales copy and in your blogs and articles. It will be easier to promote in your daily life because it is something you love to talk about. It is easier to do the “work” because it is fun, and doesn’t feel like work
